Many of you know that I’ve started my internship at CHANEL this summer. Many of you also might believe in the stereotype that fashion girls don’t eat or that all they do is suckle on ice cubes. Whenever I hear this, I always laugh because I think back to the girls that I went to high school with who did just that. In high school, I was the girl with all of my gfs who jumped when it was chicken tender day or when the vending machine was refilled with snack mix. You know, the kind that has Doritos, cheesy Chex mix, pretzels and those little bread sticks – I’m not talking about granola and healthy nuts here. My
#fatgirlproblems continued into college where my meal plan would always run out and my Christian Louboutin sample sale money would have to go straight to Waffles & Dinges or Bonchon. Beginning my fashion career was kind of scary to me. Questions like “What do I eat at work?” “CAN I eat at work?” “How can I hide this cheeseburger in my Chanel Wallet On Chain?” did laps in my head at every start of a new internship.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been so lucky with my internships and these companies. Not really once where I was Andy in The Devil Wears Prada and not once did I have to hide my affinity to anything fried or greasy. At almost all of the brands/offices that I’ve interned at, everyone ate. Everyone ate and ate and ate. I often found myself embarrassed for NOT eating enough – crazy.
So, it’s the start of my third week at CHANEL and I wanted to share some of my fave snacks in the office (we get spoiled with fruity treats and I get a little bored).
Think treats that satisfy any cravings – the sweet or the salty. Also, ones that don’t smell up the office when you are snacking at your desk. I usually have these a couple hours after breakfast (before lunch) and a couple hours after lunch (before I leave the office at 5). It keeps me fueled all day to put it WERK.
